The racing season is over? No! The season is just beginning!

After an eventful debut in September, Gen CUP begins its autumn of endurance racing with the first event – GEN CUP 500!

https://forms.gle/xhdxYKF1ZxkdvNx1A – participant registration

Format: 4-hour endurance race.
Circuit: Nemuno Žiedas

Main rules:
3 drivers, stints of up to 45 minutes, a minimum PIT STOP time of 5 minutes, and at least one refuelling stop expected.

Schedule:

06:30 – Gates open
07:00 – Technical checks
07:45 – Drivers’ briefing
08:00 – Practice/Qualifying (15 minutes)
08:30 – Race start
12:30 – Race finish
12:45 – Awards ceremony
13:00 – We hand the circuit over to Trackday.lt, whom we thank for giving us half a day of track time.

This is the first of two races this season in which GenCUP club members will test themselves in endurance racing.

Are races this long ambitious? Yes.

Working together as a team of three, planning how much fuel to start with, exactly when to change drivers and so on will be a new experience for many. But that’s why we’re here – plenty of track time, plenty of action, and plenty of new experiences and knowledge.

We hope that after two races (the second is planned at Riga’s 333 circuit on 7 November), we’ll have learnt enough to become fully fledged participants in larger series such as BaTCC in summer 2027, and no longer be newcomers.

For now – learning among our own!

Will there be action at the event? OH YES.
Will the race be exciting? Definitely.
Will we have at least 15 teams? That’s the plan!
Are spectators welcome? Of course – all support is always welcome!

So, see you at Nemuno Žiedas on the morning of 10 October!

Disclaimer: if we drove non-stop at a typical good GenCUP lap time of 1:35, we would cover 507 km in 4 hours. But that’s impossible, because we’ll need at least five driver changes, refuelling and so on, so the race will finish based on time. Still, GenCUP 500, or #pusestukes, sounds better than “GenCUP 1/6 of a Day”.
